We have a terrifying show for you today all about the house we grew up in. So, Jenny and Kari are here to share a collection of creepy tales that happened in our childhood home and some are being told here for the very first time!!!! Story 1: Growing up in a haunted house can make you feel like your losing your mind! There always seemed to be things happening that just didn’t quite make sense and all seven of us kids learned to cope by keeping our lips zipped and pretending that things were okay…Jenny shares two terrifying memories from when she was just a little kid! Story 2:The house we all grew up in was large, it was an old Victorian that was built in around 1880 and had a distinctly Gothic vibe especially after our mom painted it a shade of gray that was almost black, but it was still only a 3 bedroom 1 ½ bath house and we had 7 kids, 2 parents and an assortment of dogs, cats, birds, and more living there, we also had the most kids on the block, so our house was the headquarters for every kid in the neighborhood – it was also, as you’ve heard, haunted as hell. Kari tells a story of something that somehow moved in the night. Story 3: Our last story is all about the man in the house… and no, I’m not talking about Crazy Larry, also known as our dad… no there was another man and both Jenny and Kari had startling and scary encounters with him! -Join us on Facebook! bit.ly/FacebookHITH -Buy us a cookie or two! bit.ly/ko-fiHITH -Thanks to our Storytellers: Kim A. Kari, who was as the Night Manager at Chessens Bar and Deli in downtown Minneapolis during the late 90’s and early 2000’s , shares this bone-chilling tale of terror in four act about her time there. If you love scary stories, you’re not going to want to miss this and I’m telling you now… you might not want to listen alone, especially if it’s late at night.
This story is told in four acts: Act 1: A Whomp in the Night Act 2: This Has Happened Before Act 3: Flies Act 4: The Freezer Other episodes referenced: Ghost in the Machine, I Banish Thee From my Roku! (this is where Erin and I have paranormal stuff happen DURING the recording!) and Missed the Party? It was a Trip! We were raised in Minnesota and anyone who lives in Minnesota knows that one of the most common vacation destinations during the summer months is “up north”. Up north meaning literally anywhere north of where you are and also the northern half of the state.
Minnesota also more than lives up to it’s slogan of the land of 10,000 lakes… in reality there are 11, 842 lakes bigger than 10 acres each… but who’s counting besides the DNR… anyway, it’s a gorgeous state literally peppered with thousands and thousands of lakes and the thing to do there when the weather is nice is to “head up north to one of those lakes, which is what Kari and her friends do… head north to an area filled with lakes and the small towns and people who depend on those lakes and their visitors for their livelihoods. In today’s story…. Kari gives you a glimpse into what it means to head “up north” to the lakes of Minnesota and the kinds of adventures you might have in the show we’re calling Welcome to Lake Vermilion or how in the hell did I end up here on vacation?
