Meet The Sisters
Meet the Sisters (as transcribed from Episode #2: All About a Donkey)
The first thing you should know is that we are all a little witchy in a good way. Strange and unexplainable things are regular occurrences in our lives, and we all agree we grew up in a haunted house.
I’m your host, Kim A. Flodin, and hopefully you learned all about me in Episode 1. I'm the oldest of 7 and have 4 sisters! We all shared a room growing up and still (or due to that) managed to become and remain good friends. I don’t get to see my sisters very often, but I can’t think of another group of women I enjoy hanging out with as much as them.
My sister Kari is 2nd in the lineup and is just 17 months younger than me and, as you heard… sadly, recently widowed after a great 25-year relationship. She lives in Florida now (we grew up in the Midwest and some of us are still there). This story happened shortly after Jack passed and my sisters Jenny, Erin, and Skye went to stay with her during that time. Kari is industrious, smart, and funny. She’s the family genealogist, so we know for sure we are the descendants of one of the first women to be tried as a witch in Salem. No joke… it was our 6x great grandma. Kari worked in the food service industry and owned her own restaurant in downtown Minneapolis before moving to Florida.
Jenny is the 3rd sister and 4th in line in our family. She is a brainiac (well, we really don’t have any dummies in our family, to be honest) and she’s fun, funny, and cagey. She’s also someone you want on your side and to stay on the good side of! You do not want to piss her off! Not to say that she won’t have your back, because she will in spades! She loves animals, has an interesting job in the medical field, is a great mom who is also getting her MBA and helping to make this podcast!
Erin is right after Jenny (5th in the family and the 4th sister). She is the performer. She’s a lead singer in a rock and roll cover band, and she’s damn good (and I’m not just saying that because she’s my sister!) She’s got a heart of gold and is a natural helper. Not only that, but she’s also recently remarried, a mom and the only one of us who is a grandma!
Skye is the baby of the family and is super busy with her career, adorable kids, fur babies, friends and life, so we may not hear from her quite as often as the other sisters… when we do it will be a treat. She has an infectious laugh, and she’s super fun and funny. She also throws a great party, loves to travel, is crafty, has a great eye for decorating and is fascinated by all things medical in nature. In another life (or maybe still in this one), she would have been a doctor.
